mAKING EYE CONTACT     by Coupon Bella Writer

I was always paranoid about wearing glasses. I felt they somehow made the person look, should I say ‘studious’? To me, it somehow gave the impression of ‘stay away’ to people and that was something which I didn’t want. So when I discovered that I was myopic, I was shattered.

I was always looking for reasons for not wearing my glasses and on one such occasion when I was straining hard to read the instructions on a driveway, my friend Tiara noticed. ‘What’s the problem, can’t you see?’ she asked with concern. She wasn’t even aware of my eyesight problem. So when she learned of my situation she was aghast, well, primarily because of my myopia - and no not the eye problem rather my narrow mindedness in the issue. She decided to educate me and introduce me to the right contacts! And thus, I began seeing the world with a difference!

Of course, not that I was new to the concept of contact lenses, just that I found it cumbersome. But the contact world that Tiara took me to was a different ball game altogether. We browsed through several websites before settling down on Vision Direct. I was pleasantly surprised that there were night and day contacts that you could wear through the night. That was a big relief because every time I thought of lenses, I pictured myself struggling to take them off every night before I went to sleep. I also suddenly saw I was truly ‘myopic’ in that sense. I had completely shut out the thought of wearing lenses that I hadn’t even seen the advances this industry had made and how user friendly they had become even to stoics like me. There were now all kinds of lenses:

  •   Bifocal/Multi-focal

  •     Colored

  •      Disposable lenses which again came in several variations – daily, 1-2 weeks, and monthly

  •      Halloween

  •      Rigid Gas Permeable

  •      Toric

  •      Vial

  •      And more…

Gosh! And I only thought there were 3 kinds – hard, semi soft, and soft lenses… Tiara continued to educate me more in each of these contact kinds. For instance, did you know that Halloween lenses series was indeed inspired from Halloween and some of the types available under this series are Blind Eye, Blood Red, and Blanc Stare. Well, so much for the lighter side, if you do have an eye problem like me, check out the other kinds of contact lenses.

Tiara and I carefully went through each of the contact types to see what best suited my condition and my aversion to having something placed in my eye constantly was not making the situation any easier. After several hours of browsing through loads of information, we finally settled on a pair of Vial lenses, which was thicker and easy to handle – ideal for a first timer like me. Of course, I needed to cross check with the prescription but then again, I wasn’t going to buy them right away. I wanted to first collect some discount coupons and promo codes so that I got the best rates. And with that thought in mind I returned to my daily chores. But the great discount offers from the leading brand names haunted me, and I quickly completed my tasks to return to the websites to make my purchase. Now as they say I see the world through colored lenses…
